The 20th International Conference on Hyperbolic Problems: Theory, Numerics and Applications (HYP2026) took place at the University of Stuttgart at the end of May. More than 300 scientists from around the world exchanged views on the latest research findings regarding hyperbolic problems. These are mathematical models used to describe fluid flow, wave motion, and other convection-dominated processes. They are fundamental for a wide range of applications in natural and engineering sciences.
The core programme of the conference consisted of seventeen keynote lectures given by leading mathematicians in the field of hyperbolic balance equations. More than 200 contributed talks addressed various topics ranging from analysis, modelling, numerics to aspects of scientific computing, data sciences, and stochastics. HYP2026 was planned and organised by Maria Lukacova (Universität Mainz) and Christian Rohde (Universität Stuttgart).
