Alicia Heck M.Ed. awarded the Bürkert University Prize for special scientific achievements

At University of Stuttgart's academic year celebration 2025, a Bürkert University Award for an outstanding master thesis went to Alicia Heck M.Ed. (Institute for Applied Analysis and Numerical Simulation IANS). This was in recognition of her  thesis entitled “ Development of a CAMMP Workshop on the Topic of Encryption”. The master thesis was supervised by Prof. Benjamin Stamm.

In her work, Ms Heck developed a CAMMP workshop on encryption. The work involved creating a didactic concept for teaching basics of asymmetric encryption techniques (RSA method) to 8th grade school children. The work not only included the creation of worksheets in the form of Jupyter notebooks, but also the development of sample solutions and accompanying material for supervisors. The workshop was conducted, tested and evaluated with pupils in a trial run during the work on the master thesis.
