Prof. Jens Wirth and Katja Stefanie Engstler presented selected items from the department’s collection of models and instruments to the participants of the session “History of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics.” The GAMM 2026 session was chaired by Prof. Beate Ceranski (Institute of History, University of Stuttgart) and Prof. Jörg F. Wagner (Chair of Flight Measurement Technology, University of Stuttgart). In addition to providing a historical overview of the collection and highlighting particularly outstanding items, the presentation focused on the use of these materials in engineering and mathematics education at universities.
