On September 30, 2025, Dr. Jürgen Dippon retired after 40 years of service at the University of Stuttgart. Dr. Dippon had been teaching and conducting research at the Institute for Statistics and Applications (ISA) since 1985. His research interests include stochastic analysis and stochastic processes, probability theory in Banach spaces, nonparametric statistics and applied statistics with computer support, as well as biostatistics.
For many years, Dr. Dippon was responsible for teaching economic and financial mathematics. At the department, he was responsible for the website and its relaunch, and supervised the publication series “Stuttgarter Mathematische Berichte” (Stuttgart Mathematical Reports). Dr. Dippon was a member of the Study Commission and the Stuttgart Research Center for Systems Biology.
