Starting October 1, 2025, Jun.-Prof. Dr. Lukas Trottner will join the Department of Mathematics at the University of Stuttgart. He will take over as head of the Chair of Mathematical Statistics at the Institute for Stochastics and Applications.
Jun.-Prof. Trottner's research focuses on the statistics of stochastic processes and generative models in machine learning. In particular, he deals with statistical methods for stochastic partial differential equations as well as method development and convergence analysis of generative models of the diffusion type.
In the coming winter semester, Jun.-Prof. Trottner will offer the lecture “Stochastics and Applied Mathematics for Teachers” (together with Prof. Benjamin Stamm).
The department welcomes Mr Herdegen and wishes him a good start in Stuttgart.
