Prof. Dr. Norbert Knarr - 14 years of teaching and research at the Department of Mathematics

Prof. Dr. Norbert Knarr retires

At the end of the summer semester 2022, Prof. Dr. Norbert Knarr (apl) will retire. Since 2008, Prof. Knarr has been active in teaching and research at the University of Stuttgart in the Department of Mathematics. During this time, he has primarily taught the lecture "Higher Mathematics 3 for Engineering Courses". Within this course, he has taught more than 13,000 students. He is the author of widely cited mathematical papers on geometry.

On the occasion of Prof. Knarr's retirement, a mathematical colloquium was held on July 18, 2022: Prof. Dr. Hendrik Van Maldeghem (Ghent University) spoke on "Points, Lines, and Octonions", highlighting in particular Prof. Knarr's fundamental contributions to topological Tits-buildings.
