On Friday, September 27, the certificate exam for the advanced mathematics course took place. Almost 400 pupils took the exam at the same time at all universities in Baden-Württemberg, 240 of them in Stuttgart alone. They had 90 minutes to compete with the other participants in solving four complex problems.
The content of the certificate exam are topics of the 11th grade advanced mathematics course at secondary schools. This is intended to prepare pupils for the mathematical requirements of a STEM course of study. As in previous years, the statewide standardized exam was created by a working group led by Priv.-Doz. Dr. Peter Lesky and Prof. Timo Weidl. The exam is marked by lecturers from the MINT-Kolleg, which also issues the certificates.
