Physics Mentoring Program

Jumpstart your studies! Meet classmates, professors and lecturers! Get insightful tips and explore institutes!

Dear Students at the Department of Physics,

Everyday life at the University can be overwhelming and stressful. When do I register for exams? Where and how do I even do that? Which electives are offered and suit my interests? How do I get in contact with upper-level students and PhD candidates to find a Bachelor- or Master Thesis topic? Whom do I contact when I need help?

We, a team of upper-level students and professors, want to assist you with all these issues.

For international students in particular, we would also like to draw your attention to the support offered by the Faculty 8 International Team.

The Program

See how the registration process works via ILIAS. Enter the group "Mentoring Physik" to get access to all information! (German only)

In case you don’t have your st-account yet, join the WhatsApp group for first-year Bachelor students (Link zu https://www.f08.uni-stuttgart.de/physik/studierende/erstsemester/). Here you will get all the information about the program.

The Mentoring Program is an initiative of the Physics Department to decrease the dropout number in the beginning of studies. Students receive guidance and assistance throughout the first phase of their studies.

The program focuses on first-year Bachelor students. The group meetings and information are given in German only.

However, some excursions and trips are also in English. Feel free to contact us for further information!
