Every year, the University of Stuttgart awards prizes for outstanding publications from each of the ten faculties. In the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Dr. Teresa Conde received the publication award for his publication "All quasihereditary algebras with a regular exact Borel subalgebra."
In it, Dr. Conde solved several open problems from algebra, and Prof. Ingo Steinwart, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, emphasized that this solution was achieved with the help of specially developed techniques. As sole author, Dr. Conde's very weighty paper solved interrelated and long-standing open problems. These solutions were completely unexpected and are based on new methods introduced by Ms. Conde to reformulate problems of pure mathematics into algorithmic problems and thereby solve them. Thus, in an important problem, it is shown that the existence of a very complicated algebraic-categorical structure depends on a particular solution of a system of recursively generated linear equations.
