June 30, 2021 / Department of Mathematics

Award for excellent teaching on the Day of Teaching of the University of Stuttgart on 30.06.2021

The Day of Teaching and Learning took place virtually on June 30, 2021, under the motto "How is good digital teaching made?". In line with the motto, five stuvus special prizes for digital teaching were awarded. The prize of € 3,000, the highest endowment, was awarded to the team Michael Eisermann and Friederike Stoll for the lecture "Topology" in the summer semester 2020.

In the laudation, it was particularly emphasized that the award winners were able to awaken the joy of learning in the students and explain the complicated mathematical relationships in a simple way. Mention was made of the elaborate lecture videos, the forum with competition on quick answers, the quizzes, the "Topological Café" with non-mathematical topics, creative lecture posters and a joint topological hike at the end of the semester.

Prof. Eisermann and Dr. Stoll expressed their gratitude for the award and pointed out that the award goes to the whole team of the topology lecture. Especially the positive feedback in the "Topological Café" was very motivating for the lecturers and the team.
