On “Science Day” at the University of Stuttgart on May 25, 2025, the 38th student competition took place at the faculty. The team competition, which originally began as a mathematics school competition, has been held across disciplines since 2018 under the name “Mathematics and Physics” school competition.
This year, the challenge cup went to the Landesgymnasium für Hochbegabte in Schwäbisch Gmünd. The winning team from LGH achieved 22 out of 24 points. Second place went to the team from İstanbul Erkek Lisesi and a second team from LGH with 21 out of 24 points. Two third places were again awarded to the Stiftsgymnasium Sindelfingen and the Fanny-Leicht-Gymnasium Stuttgart-Vaihingen with equal scores of 20 out of 24 points.
This year's tasks dealt with ferromagnets, knight moves on rectangular chessboards and a question on probability theory. In addition to the classic written solutions to the math problems, videos were created for the experimental task and included in the assessment.
