Focus on the field of „Complex Quantum Systems“

The University of Stuttgart, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, invites applications for a

full professorship (W3) for theoretical physics

focussing on the field of „Complex Quantum Systems“.

We are looking for an outstanding candidate with an international reputation in teaching and research, who has an excellent track record in one or more of the following topics: quantum information, quantum optics, atom optics, solid-state optics, quantum thermodynamics, quantum criticality. Experience with obtaining and administrating external funding is expected. Successful candidates should contribute to collaborations with other physics institutes and with other departments as well as with the Max-Planck institutes located in Stuttgart. In particular, we expect contributions to the existing initiatives IQST, ZAQuant, and SCOPE.

Candidates should be able to teach all branches of theoretical physics.

The requirements for employment listed in § 47 and § 50 Baden-Württemberg university law apply.
