Every four years a joint conference is held by the German Mathematical Union (DMV) and the Austrian Mathematical Society (ÖMG). The last one took place in 2017 in Salzburg. By invitation of the international organising committee, Christian Hesse will present the public lecture as Keynote Address at the upcoming joint meeting in Passau, on September 28, 2021 from 19:30 to 20:30 Central European Time. The talk “Mathematics and Chess” will be online and in German.
