Ms. Rybak, how do you like Stuttgart?
I feel at home in Stuttgart after being here for many years. I have lived and worked in several cities in Germany, but I like Stuttgart the best. There are very nice neighborhoods to live in here and a very good interdisciplinary research network.
Can you describe this network in more detail?
In the Collaborative Research Centre "Interface-Driven Multi-Field Processes in Porous Media - Flow, Transport and Deformation" mathematicians, physicists, engineers and computer scientists work together on current problems in porous media. I particularly enjoy the collaboration with experimentalists, which allows me to validate my mathematical models.
How do you feel about teaching and research at Corona?
Actually, everything is going well. Sometimes working in a home office is more productive. Of course, I miss the direct contact with colleagues from time to time. But we've organized everything well and have even held a very successful digital conference with over 70 participants in the meantime.
Ms. Rybak, do you plan to return to Belarus at some point?
I really like the work here. Nevertheless, I would also very much like to go back to Minsk. But in the current political situation that is not possible. The dictatorship makes living and doing research in Belarus almost impossible at the moment.
Thank you very much for the interview.
