At our information points younger visitors could craft mathematical models and thus increase their geometric understanding, while prospective students could discuss details of the degree programmes we offer. Apart from this, the Department of Mathematics contributed a public lecture: Prof. Steinwart from the ISA answered the question How can machines learn?.
Also our Mathematics Student Council informed about prerequisites, possibilities and experiences of our study-programmes. They also showed how much mathematics is contained in some games and various disciplines, such as knot-throwing, could be tried out and perfected.
An innovation was the Science Slam - " Science Espresso" of our faculty. Among the five actors were the mathematicians PD Dr. Künzer with "Hütchenspiel und Zahlentheorie" and the team Dr. Stoll / Prof. Eisermann with "Simplify your life! Topologically".
