In the academic year 2017/2018 172 students finished their studies at the faculty: 77 Bachelors, 63 Masters as well as 32 graduates with the objectives of a certification as teacher. This is an annual occasion for the faculty to celebrate their students and graduates adequately. Hence the Dean, Prof. Peter Michler, invited everyone to this traditional occasion on Friday 30. November 2018. 180 guests, graduates and their families and friends attended. The string quartet of the university’s academic orchestra created a festive setting.
The celebrations had two highlights: receiving the graduation award and handover of congratulation letters for a successful graduation. The Robert Bosch GmbH had two prizes for outstanding Bachelor and Master degrees in Mathematics. For the criteria best grade and shortest duration of study Dr. Björn Rocker from Robert Bosch GmbH presented the prizes to Paul Schwahn and Oliver Rosengarth for their bachelor thesis and Maximilian Hofmann and Lars von Wolff for their master thesis in Mathematics.
Every year the Artur-Fischer-Foundation has been awarding prizes to the best graduates for Masters in Physics. Dr. Günter Köble, Managing Director of the Artur-Fischer-Foundation, honoured Mr Mario Zinßer and Mrs Tina Mathea as the best in their year.
Prof. Eisermann initiated the award ceremony with the sentence “Good Students need Good Tutors” and awarded Mrs. Elissa Eggenweiler for best degree in lectureship for Mathematics. This prize is being donated for the second time by the Association of Friends of Mathematics of the University Stuttgart and emphasizes the significance of the teacher training for both departments, Mathematics and Physics.
